New York City, USA, April 5 – The Road To World Car 2023 And World Car Finals Powered By Brembo closed the day with live announcements of the winners in the six award categories at New York International Auto Show.
That World Performance Car 2023 is KIA EV6 GT.
A jury consisting of 100 leading international automotive journalists from 32 the state selects the winner by secret ballot based on their evaluation of each vehicle that qualifies as part of their ongoing professional work. Voting results are tabulated by KPMG.
President and CEO of Kia For Sung Song said: “To be recognized in this way by the judges of the World Car Awards is a tremendous honour. The World Performance Car trophy was created by a legendary automotive designer IanCallumdesign and engineering consultancy CALLUM. “The World Car Awards are held with the highest honour by the industry and as a recipient, I appreciate how much it means to the design team to showcase them so proudly in the studio,” said Ian Callum. “Rethinking design and manufacturing is an enormous privilege and the only opportunity the team at CALLUM enjoys.”
The seven new trophies designed by CALLUM (below, for illustration) are produced by Replica uses the first fully encrypted 3D printing platform to offer a secure and sustainable way for OEMs to make parts available on demand, anytime, anywhere. Eligible vehicle World Performance Car must be produced in a volume of at least 1,000 units/year, must be openly focused on performance in overall character, and must be “sold” in at least two major markets (China, Europe, India, Japan, Korea, Latin America, US) on at least two separate continents within the period January 1, 2022 and March 30, 2023. Existing model variations any that have been substantially revised, specifically designed to improve overall performance characteristics, may qualify, at the discretion of the operator.
