MG Motor India has launched Comet EV at an introductory price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom)
MG Motor India has launched their smart EV Comet today at an introductory price of Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom). They have also announced that test drives will be available starting April 27th.
According to MG, the Comet EV based on the versatile GSEV platform is a pure electric vehicle with a minimalist yet spacious design that is inherently agile and allows for smooth, stress-free travel within cities. Comet EV is the second EV in MG Motor India’s portfolio, after the ZS, and comes with smart technology that is both futuristic and user-friendly.
The MG Comet EV is powered by a 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery which is claimed to offer a range of up to 230 kilometers on a single charge. The battery is IP67 rated, making it highly resistant to water and dust, and ensuring maximum safety in every conceivable condition. Comet EV comes with active and passive safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS, EBD, rear three-point seat belts, rear parking camera sensor, tire pressure monitor and ISOFIX child seat anchors.
The built-in iSmart system comes with 55 plus “Connected Car” features including 100+ voice commands. It has a floating arrangement of two screens, seamlessly connected, with a 10.25-inch main unit and a 10.25-inch digital cluster. In addition, the entertainment system is equipped with a widget with three fully customizable pages to give customers access to a wide range of entertainment and connectivity options. Another unique feature of the MG Comet EV is the smart key, which according to MG adds to the feel of the new urban car technology.
MG Comet EV has a comfortable and roomy cabin with a 2+2 seating configuration with a 50:50 second row split. The modern styled cab is combined with smart features and multiple functions to support the comfort and interactive aspects of this modern urban EV occupant. The Comet EV’s multi-function steering wheel and unique design combine with intelligent technology and futuristic iPod-like controls that make the EV feel like a gadget. The rotary drive selector operates the transmission and is decorated with a chrome ring and a unique pattern. In addition, the center console includes useful features such as power window buttons and a 12-volt charging port.
In addition, MG has also introduced two special Comet EV editions, the Gamer edition and the LIT edition, which are adapted to the “vibe” of the personality of the next generation of urban commuters – the gaming and technology community, as well as fashionistas. The MG Comet EV will be offered with several personalization options including more than 250 sticker options, graphics and more, to add to the fun and technological vibe of a multi-faceted car for Gen Z customers.
