SsangYong Motors UK has confirmed the continuation of its partnership with EMTEC and plans to relaunch the Technician Apprentice Programme.

EMTEC is currently recruiting on behalf of the SsangYong dealer network and will begin providing training from its Nottingham location from September 2023.

Mark Burrows, after sales director at SsangYong Motors UK, said; “I am pleased to announce the continuation of our Technician Internship Program, and start the journey in developing the technicians of tomorrow. The program is designed to provide a blended learning path that provides apprentices with future technical skills experience, expertise, and direct tutoring from within the automotive industry, while also enabling them to earn while they study. It has been specifically designed to maximize on-the-job training while minimizing time away from the dealer. Apprentices are an important part of our industry, training a new generation of skilled workers. As we move closer to our electrification goal, the skills our apprentices learn will become more and more important. This is why SsangYong continues to invest in apprentices.”

This IMI accredited program was initially launched in April 2019, run by a dedicated and fully qualified EMTEC team who ensure that each candidate receives comprehensive training on the latest vehicles, specialist tools, industrial technology, diagnostic equipment, IT systems and customer handling engineering.

Stephen Archery, Strategic Business Partner at EMTEC, added: “EMTEC is delighted to administer and deliver the SsangYong UK Technician Internship Program. SsangYong is known as a thriving automotive manufacturer with a reputation for quality, style and value. These qualities have been used to design specialized apprenticeships that develop the skills and knowledge needed for the future workforce. The innovative and exciting internship program will provide modern and up-to-date education and enhancements in developing knowledge and skills to support SsangYong’s progress.”
