Rolls-Royce is willing to oblige any client with enough money. That includes painting the Ghost sedan a decidedly non-standard color.
The automaker recently unveiled a pink Ghost for the Internet personality, known primarily by her Instagram handle @ChampagneRose. The car was finished in a bespoke pink color called, appropriately, Champagne Rose, and was developed especially for the buyer. It will be reserved for its exclusive use, according to Rolls-Royce.
Car builds show how much time Rolls is willing to devote to bespoke build requests. The customer spends four days sampling the Rolls vehicle range, then assembles a “mood board” of hundreds of color swatches that are sent to Rolls’ dedicated department. That was eventually narrowed down to 30 paint samples, from which the final colors were chosen.
The exterior is matched to pink leather upholstery, which took six months to develop, including testing to ensure the pink hue didn’t fade in the sun. The interior also features pink wool carpeting and piano black trim.
Rolls-Royce Ghost in Champagne Rose
The separator between the rear seats features a painted rose motif that took several days of prototyping, while the final design took 14 hours to complete, according to Rolls. The roses repeated on Ghost’s built-in picnic table, each requiring 5,500 individual stitches and more than 30 hours of labor. Finally, a rose floral design is incorporated into the Starlight Headliner, which features 1,132 fiber-optic lighting elements that simulate the night sky.
This is not the first Pink Ghost. In 2013 Rolls painted the previous generation of Ghost pink as part of a program to encourage support for breast cancer treatment. In 2017, car collector Michael Fux also commissioned the Rolls-Royce Dawn in his signature fuchsia.
