Pininfarina will unveil a limited edition model this summer to mark the fifth anniversary of the launch of its automotive division, whose first product was the Battista electric hypercar.
A teaser image released by the company on Tuesday hinted at the new model being the Battista version, perhaps similar to the Battista Anniversario which is limited to just five units. The Battista Anniversario was inaugurated in 2020 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of design studio Pininfarina.
The hooded car appears to have the same front end shape as the Battista, as well as the same rear wing design. .
“We are committed to delighting many more clients in the future, and our team is extremely excited to bring the first of a series of spectacular new cars we have prepared for our growing client community this summer,” he said in a statement.
Deliveries of the Battista started last year, including in the US, where most of the 1,874 hp electric hypercar is expected to end up. A total of 150 examples were destined for production, a tally that includes five Battista Anniversary and possibly additional limited edition versions.
Pininfarina is known to be working on additional, higher volume vehicles from the Battista. One of them is an SUV, which Pininfarina previewed to potential customers a few years ago with the Pura Vision concept car. However, Pininfarina has not provided any concrete information about the SUV apart from a projected output of 1,000 hp.
