The Nissan-Renault Alliance in India has drawn up a plan of action for the companies to take restructuring and a total of six new models introduced from 2025. These will be four C- segment SUV and two A-segment electric cars.

The Nissan-Renault alliance has announced several grand plans for India, the world’s third largest car market, with investment of up to Rs 5,300 crore in cars and generating around 2,000 new jobs with the target of upgrading their manufacturing plants by localization of 80 percent and increasing the number of exports. In a press conference, Ashwani Gupta, Chief Operating Officer, Nissan Motor Corporation, also announced the restructuring of the Nissan holding by 51 percent to become Renault by 49 percent.
Target figures for electric cars are also unclear at this point. Anticipated penetration in 2030 is projected at 13 percent. By simple reasoning, it points to somewhere around four per percent by 2025. However, with the advent of synthetic fuels and hydrogen-oriented development powertrain increases, it looks like this will be a tech-agnostic mobility ride from now on.
