Nissan throughout February will host an event at its headquarters in Yokohama, Japan, showcasing its future endeavors, particularly in the area of sustainable mobility.
Called Nissan Futures, the event will also feature a look at the concept car that Nissan will debut in virtual form for the first time in 2021.
The concept is the Max-Out, a roadster shown alongside the Surf-Out pickup truck, Hang-Out SUV, and Chill-Out coupe-like crossover concept for 2021 to tease potential designs for the brand’s upcoming EV portfolio. Nissan plans 15 EVs across its Nissan and Infiniti brands by 2030, with the first of these expected in 2025.

Nissan has yet to mention production plans for any of the four concepts listed above, although the automaker’s chief design officer, Alfonso Albaisa, told Motor Authority in a 2022 interview that his design team is investigating an electric pickup truck. The sleek, low-key Max-Out looks like it has the least chance of production, of the four concepts. Nissan has unveiled several electric sports car concepts over the years, some promised production but never materialised.
The Nissan Futures event runs from February 4 to March 1. Joining Max-Out at the event were Nissan’s developments in electrification, vehicle intelligence, power management, vehicle battery reuse, V2V and V2X communications, and more.
