The McLaren 720S is no longer in production, but you can still buy the racing version with the recently updated GT3 specs for the 2023 motorsport season and beyond.

Revealed on Wednesday, the updated car is known as the 720S GT3 Evo, and can be purchased as a new car or as an upgrade package for the current 720S GT3.

Updates to the 720S GT3 are focused on aerodynamics, with the front fascia and splitter featuring new designs aimed at increasing downforce levels. Flics are also added at each corner of the front fascia.

Other visible tweaks include new positions for the auxiliary lights, which McLaren says improve nighttime visibility, as well as a more easily adjustable rear wing and a taller Gurney flap feature.

The suspension has also been given a makeover. The front and rear upper wishbones feature a new design, with the front now adjustable for increased tire management options. The front and rear uppers are also new, and new four-way adjustable dampers from Öhlins have been added at every corner.

Powering the car is a modified version of the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 found in the 720S. Here the engine is mated to a 6-speed sequential transmission instead of the road car’s 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

The 720S GT3 Evo is likely to be the final version of the 720S as the successor to the supercar is rumored to be announced in April. The new car is expected to be a major update of the 720S, similar to how the 720S’ predecessor, the 650S, was a major upgrade of the 12C.
