Maritimo, represented in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia by The Yacht Sales Co, hosted the global debut of the S75 sedan motor yacht at this year’s Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. The launch of today’s flagship brand is a landmark event as the Australian builder celebrates two decades since its founding in 2003 by Bill Barry-Cotter, father of Tom Barry-Cotter, Managing Director of the shipyard.
“The global launch of the S75 marks the start of Maritimo’s 20th anniversary celebrations and what could be more fitting in our 20th year than releasing this great ship,” said Tom Barry-Cotter. “The S75 is the epitome of everything Maritimo. We are very proud to launch this magnificent ship and what it represents for Maritimo.”
The S75 starts at the back with an ‘adventure deck,’ which measures nearly 200 square feet and allows storage of water toys and offers space for lounging, grilling and relaxing.
Three steps on each side lead to the cockpit, which has a wide sofa at the back, while to the right is an L-shaped sofa and flexible table that offers alfresco dining. The cockpit can be closed in case of bad weather.
The inner side walkaround deck leads to the anteroom outdoor lounge area, which has sun beds and forward facing lounges.
In an interior known for its diagonal stripes, the rear kitchen to the right caters to both indoor and outdoor dining areas, and features a subtle palette of materials and finishes alongside top-notch appliances.
Forward to port, the elevated cruise compartment can serve as an escort seat, allowing for good interaction with those at the helm, who benefit from an ergonomically designed, electrically adjustable heated steering wheel seat.
The saloon has plenty of seating on either side and features panoramic glass, which creates a bright and airy space.
The enormous 65-inch display on the left reveals itself via an electric lift and can be rotated and viewed from the galley and even the cockpit.
An atrium staircase leading to the lower deck guest cabins, which includes a full-beam master suite with king-size bed and a VIP suite in the bow. The twin guest cabin to starboard has en-suite access to a bathroom which also serves as the head of the day and can be used by guests on the bunk cabins to the harbor.
Engine options include twin 1,150hp Scania DI16 V8s, while Maritimo is the first Australian manufacturer to offer the 1,625hp MTU 2000 Series V10 engine by Rolls-Royce Power Systems. The S75 will join the M75, which features an enclosed flyover, and both models are the largest built by Maritimo to date.
“The S75 is the culmination of over three years of development by the dedicated Maritimo team. The company has invested hundreds of thousands of hours in the planning, development, and pre-production of the S75, collaborating with owner Maritimo intensively throughout the process,” said Barry-Cotter.
“When you consider the evolution of Maritimo over the last 20 years, it’s clear that the foundation for the development of the S75 really started then. When my dad founded Maritimo in 2003, he had a vision to see the scale of the ships we would manufacture today and start creating the environment that would make that possible.”
