Kia Charge now offers customers access to more than 30,000 connectors in the UK.
The total number of connectors available through Kia Charge has grown by 48% to 30,324 chargers in the last 12 months.
In this case, the number of chargers offering peak charging speeds of over 100kW has nearly tripled (189% growth), reflecting the desire of operators to facilitate longer journeys.
Compared to when it was introduced in February 2021 with 13,900 connectors, the total number of UK connectors has more than doubled (up 218%).
While the Kia Charge now tops out at 26,800 AC chargers (49% increase), just over 10%, or 3,500, are fast DC chargers (50-350kW).
Chargers over 100kW account for more than 900 of them.
In 2022, sales of Kia’s plug-in hybrid vehicles and fully electric vehicles contributed largely to Kia’s record-breaking year in the UK, accounting for more than 20% of all the brand’s sales in the past year.
So far in 2023, plug-in and EV sales are off to a strong start with a total of over a quarter of Kia UK sales this year.
In the UK, Kia Charge covers 27 charging point operators, including major networks such as bp pulse, Ubitricity Shell, Source London, Instavolt, Pod Point, Osprey and Shell Recharge. The service also offers access to IONITY’s high-power charging network.
