Jeep is definitely feeling the heat from the Bronco, as it just added two factory-fitted options to the latest JL Wrangler already available at Ford.
They include a floor wash system which can be used in place of traditional floor mats, and heavy duty vinyl seats which can also be sprayed for easy cleaning.
The floor system features a multi-layer construction that Jeep says offers thermal protection and sound dampening properties. It also features an integrated drain that runs parallel to the Wrangler’s original floor drain. It comes in black and fits snugly on each leg. This option costs $995 when installed at the factory.
The vinyl seat has been developed by Katzkin and claims to provide protection against normal wear and tear, as well as more extreme conditions such as scuffing, fading and mildew. They’re also water-resistant, meaning they can be sprayed. The seats are offered in black and feature an embroidered Wrangler grille. It costs $1,695 when installed at the factory.
More options from the Bronco inspire a similar version on the Wrangler if current sales trends continue. Ford reported 117,057 Bronco sales in 2022, the vehicle’s first full year on the market. While Wrangler still dominates with sales of 181,409 units in the same period, this number is down from 204,610 units in the previous year.
