Ontario, Canada, March 16 – Honda recalling nearly half a million vehicles in the US and 52,000 in Canada due front seat belt may not lock properly.

Honda said in documents posted Wednesday by US safety regulators that surface coating on the conduit because buckles can deteriorate over time. The release button can shrink against the channel at lower temperatures, increasing friction and stopping the buckle stick.
If the buckles are unlocked, the driver or passengers may not be restrained in a collision, increasing the risk of injury.
Honda said it had no reports of injuries caused by a problem.
The dealer will replace the front seat belt release button or buckle assembly if necessary. The owner will be notified via a commencement letter April 17th.
