This historic villa is located in the beautiful hills providing peace and quiet in the exclusive Poggio Imperiale neighborhood of Florence, close to the Medici Villa and only 4 miles from the International School of Florence.

This magnificent 600-square-meter mansion, which dates back to the 15th century, was once a sizable monastery. The villa was then internally divided into several sections as residential purposes replaced religious ones over the years. The building’s renovation made it possible to retain most of its original characteristics, including some ornate vaulted ceilings, stone fireplaces, and frescoes which were saved and restored where necessary and motivated by an exterior fountain designed by Buontalenti.

There are three levels in this charming estate. Three large light-filled rooms form the large living area on the ground floor. A laundry room and an additional bathroom are located at one end. The staircase, kitchen with pantry and dining area with doors leading to the garden are all located on the other side of the building.

One can descend the stairs and enter the villa’s former basement, which has been converted into a private gym with a guest bedroom and en-suite toilet. The crypt has some distinctive vaults in exposed brick which help us identify the space’s earlier use as a cellar and store.

Halfway up the stairs from the ground floor, you enter a bedroom with a separate bathroom. As one continued on, one would eventually reach the first floor, which was distinguished by more luxurious and grand rooms. The corridor opens to a living room with fireplace on one side and a bedroom with private bathroom and walk-in closet on the other. From there, one can continue down the hall to the master bedroom, which has a spacious en-suite bathroom and separate walk-in wardrobe. We can also climb the stairs from the living room to the attic, which has the final bedroom with bathroom and walk-in closet.

A beautiful designer swimming pool and 2,500 square meters of impeccably maintained private garden are included in this beautiful home. You can cool off in the swimming pool or relax beside it in the sunbathing area. The fountain that Bernardo Buontalenti built in the 1580s in the enchanted garden still stands, surrounded by two marble statues and modeled after the Roman nymphaeum.

An elevator and a parking area with four places complete this elegant area. This luxurious home is ideal for fully enjoying the solitude and tranquility while letting yourself be carried away by the historical splendor of Florentine due to its prime location just a few kilometers from the city’s most important historical landmarks. With a bucolic landscape and hilly elevations, this villa in Florence encapsulates the best in living the retired pop star life. The house provides all the facilities to stay fit, reap nature’s riches and enjoy life.
