Ford’s Raptor line of vehicles offers off-road capability that most buyers will likely never experience. Ford wanted to change that situation and offered Bronco Raptor buyers the opportunity to experience off-roading in the 418-hp SUV in a controlled environment, and with complete instructions.
The Blue Oval on Friday announced a special program exclusive to Bronco Raptor buyers that will be held at the Bronco Off-Roadeo driving school located at Mt. Potos, Nevada. The program consists of a one-day training course and is included with the purchase of a 2022 or 2023 Bronco Raptor.
Course participants will need to provide their own transport to school and may bring guests at an additional cost.
Ford has four Bronco Off-Roadeo driving schools in the country. The other is located in Horseshoe Bay, Texas; Moab, Utah; and Gilford, New Hampshire, and they offer special courses for the Bronco and Bronco Sport.
The Nevada school also offers courses for Bronco and Bronco Sport but on top of this curated track was built to suit the conditions of Ultra4 Racing events, such as the popular King of the Hammers event held annually at California’s Means Dry Lake. In designing the trails, Ford recruited talented off-road drivers such as Vaughn Gittin Jr., Loren Healy and Brad Lovell to provide input.
Bronco enthusiasts looking to compete on their own can purchase one of the SUVs specially prepared by Fox Factory, maker of the popular Fox Racing Shox suspension components. It is called the Ford Bronco King of the Hammers Edition, and features modifications inspired by the 4600 class Broncos that compete in King of the Hammers races. Ford itself has developed a customer race car based on a Bronco complete with a V-8 engine.
