Ford isn’t done building crazy EV concepts to flex its electric muscles.
On Friday, while announcing its return to F1 racing with Red Bull Racing in 2026, Ford released a chart showing how the race is producing a winning product. One of the images is an outline of a yet-to-be-revealed electric pickup demonstrator, presumably based on the F-150 Lightning. Other silhouettes for the new Mustang race car and Ranger Raptor were revealed earlier.

Ford spokeswoman Emma Berg wouldn’t comment on future products but told Motor Authority the EV demonstrator was a key component of our changing motorsports strategy. Just like the E-Transit Supervan and Mach-E 1400, we will continue to introduce many more that show how exciting electric vehicles can be.”
Ford built the Mustang Mach-E with an electric 7-motor producing a combined 1,400 horsepower, an electric Ford Supervan with 1,972 hp, and even a 1978 F100 with an Eliminator electric crate engine.
It seems the automaker’s next concept to show how fun, fast, and crazy electric vehicles can be is the ridiculously high-output F-150 Lightning.
2023 Ford F-150 Lightning
The production F-150 Lightning with its massive 131-kwh long-range battery produces 563 hp and 775 lb-ft of torque. Ford originally said the electric truck would do 0-60 mph in a mid-four second range. The production truck ended up being over-delivered and quicker than originally advertised, with a 0-60 mph time coming in under 4.0 seconds. It’s faster than a standard F-150 Raptor, and possibly as fast as an F-150 Raptor R with a supercharged V-8 engine.
It’s unclear when the F-150 Lightning demonstrator teased by Ford and hinted at by Berg will be unveiled, how much power it will have, or what upgrades it might have. But it will obviously go from 0-60 mph in less than 4.0 seconds. The electric Ford Supervan concept has undergone high-speed testing at the Nürburgring, and its multiple motors allow it to go from 0-60 mph in less than 2.0 seconds.
