Customer deliveries of the Aston Martin Valkyrie started last year. Now that the car has started cruising at a steady pace, the automaker has shifted its focus to the Valkyrie Spider.

Development on the Valkyrie Spider is in full swing, and the first prototype is now ready for launch. The car you see in this image is said to be the first test mule of the convertible with a VIN ending in 81001. The car has a Morpheus Blue exterior and an all-black looking cabin.

Like the coupe, the Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider will be produced in limited quantities, 85 units to be exact. It comes with a removable targa top and redesigned doors instead of the gullwing type. This particular car is also said to come with a Track Pack.

The Valkyrie Spider uses the same Cosworth-built 6.5-liter V12 engine mated to a Rimac-sourced KERS hybrid system. The combined output is 1176 hp, sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
