The much anticipated Ferrari Roma Spider has finally lifted the lid. If there was a beauty contest for cars, this convertible from Maranello would get top honors.

The Roma Spider is powered by the same 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8 engine installed at the front, with the drive going to the rear axle. The engine produces 620 hp @ 7,500 rpm and is mated to an 8-speed dual clutch automatic transmission.

On the outside, the open-top version looks similar to the Roma coupe. It shares the same low front fascia with sleek LED headlamps and a body-colored front grille. Unlike other models in the Ferrari line-up, the Roma Spider doesn’t have the odd strake and gaping intakes. However, it has a retractable rear spoiler, which is used to stabilize the car at high speeds. Maranello has also patented a unique air deflector which is claimed to reduce turbulence when driving with the roof down. Speaking of the roof, the Roma Spider is equipped with a cloth top, which can be retracted in 13.5 seconds.

Step inside and you will be greeted by a modern cabin equipped with a digital instrument cluster, a vertically oriented central touchscreen and Ferrari’s newest steering wheel with haptic switchgear. That said, the interior is identical to that of the coupe, which isn’t surprising.

The Roma Spider is one of at least four new Ferrari supercars slated for 2023. Here’s a list of upcoming Ferrari launches to look out for.
