Ferrari has been working on the next generation flagship GT for some time now. Previously, we’ve seen a test mule of the Ferrari 812 successor disguised as Roma. But now, the first prototype with pre-production bodywork has been spotted.
As you might imagine, this is an early prototype of the 812’s successor. While Ferrari has done a great job of covering the bodywork with camouflage, you can still see the long bonnet, swooping roofline that blends into the beefy rear end. The car has quad exhausts, similar to the 812 Superfast and uses generic wheels.
Now, details of the successor to the Ferrari 812 are scarce. However, reports suggest the car may use an all-new naturally aspirated V12 engine. However, it will likely be smaller than the current 6.5-liter unit and could receive hybrid assistance.
The 812 Superfast is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 that develops 789 hp and 530 lb-ft of torque. The engine in the 812 Competizione produces 830 hp @ 9250 rpm and 510 lb-ft @ 7000 rpm. Although it is similar to what drives Superfast, it revs up to 9500 rpm.
