Airstream goes small with an EV-optimized travel trailer for SXSW. The giant RV travel trailer claims to maintain the 300-mile range of electric towed vehicles. And should utility rate payers cover the cost of the charging network? This and much more, here at Green Car Reports.
A US startup called Lightship wants to become an RV-building Tesla with a battery-powered, solar-powered, propulsion-equipped L1, a 27-foot travel trailer that, the company claims, will retain the range of towing EVs.
Airstream and the design firm that is an extension of Porsche have teamed up to produce the first “garageable” Airstream travel trailer in the company’s 90-year history. The small-footprint concept is also the first Airstream optimized for towing with EVs.
And one of the nation’s largest utilities, in Minnesota, wants to build a massive EV charging network that’s funded in part by the taxpayer. The proposal was controversial from the start, as it would have raised overall utility rates, whether the customer owned an EV or not.
