Dubai International Boat Show Rises Again

Gulf Craft took center stage at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show as the UAE manufacturer unveiled its Majesty 111 and Nomad 101 global debut, along with the Nomad 70 SUV featuring a new exterior design.

The Majesty 111 and Nomad 101 were among eight world premieres on the five-day show, which also featured 36 regional premieres among some 175-200 yachts, boats and boats, according to organizers. More than 1,000 companies and brands from 54 countries, around 400 are newcomers to the event, which is being held in Dubai Harbor for the second year.

The Majesty 120, which made its world premiere at last year’s Dubai show, is the largest of its 15 yachts, including the Majesty 100, the maker’s most popular superyacht. The rest of the Majesty models include the new 48, 62 and 72, which premiered at the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show last November.

The smaller Gulf Craft vessels include the Oryx 379, Silvercraft 47 and Silvercraft 32 WA, other debutants at the last Abu Dhabi show, plus four SilverCat power catamarans: 46 Lux, 40 Lux, 34 CC and 34 HT.

68m Soaring built by German shipyard Abeking & Rasmussen is the largest cruise ship in the show. Displayed by Ocean Independence, the 223-foot vessel is anchored on the other side of the road from the mainsail in an L-shaped water, where two long pontoons are connected by the Nikki Beach Lounge at the corner.

Superyachts in prime areas include the Heesen 47m Anita demonstrated by Behnemar, headquartered in Monaco and Dubai, the 37m long Tecnomar Evo 120 victorian featured by Ocean Independence and The Italian Sea Group, and Baglietto 32m Miss Maia showcased by BlackOrange.

A Riva 100′ Corsaro is the latest addition to the Ferretti Group’s impressive line-up, which includes the Middle East premiere of the Riva 88′ Folgore, Ferretti Yachts 780 and Pershing 5X (54ft), along with the Pershing 8X (84ft) and Ferretti Yacht 670.

Azimut displayed the S10 (94ft), Grande 27M (88ft), Fly 68 and Fly 53, while Sanlorenzo showed the SX88 but was unable to secure the SP110 which just arrived in Dubai. Cranchi is another Italian builder that displays boats.

Princess showed off her flagship X95 in a display of six yachts including the V60, F55, F50, F45 and V50. Fellow British builder Sunseeker is showcasing the 74 Sport Yacht XPS, with British builders represented by Sunseeker Bay led by John Bush and Brett Noble.

Sunreef Yachts showcases the first Sunreef 80 Eco, Marie-Josephand 60 Sunreef Power, while other models include the Riviera 72 Sports Motor Yacht, Lagoon Seventy 8 powercat, Beneteau Grand Trawler 62 and Jeanneau Merry Fisher 895.

Underwater exhibitors included Spanish builder De Antonio and Germany’s Say Carbon Yachts, while locally built Emirates Boats 63 showcased six outboard engines.

Visitors are greeted by ticket booths and VIP Registration Tents, then the Marine Comfort & Lifestyle (MLL) pavilion, which includes a Silent-Yachts booth, while fellow solar cat maker Alva Yachts is represented by local dealer MBC Yachts. The Equipment, Supplies and Services (ESS) pavilion includes the iAqua sea scooter and the Lefeet underwater scooter.

Two large white pavilions are followed by the outdoor Water Sports Village, which includes exhibits by Williams Jet Tenders, TecnoRib, Belassi, Esurf, Jetsurf, Lampuga, Lift, Flite, SiFly, Manta Foils, Waydoo, Seabob and Sublue. Jet-ski and flyboard demos are held in the water.

On the north side of the venue, superyacht exhibitors with booths included Lürssen, Amels/Damen Yachting, Oceanco, Benetti, Nobiskrug, Heesen and Feadship, and the Association of Superyacht Builders (SYBA). The north side also includes the Marine Art Gallery, smaller boats, fishing equipment and an impressive display of 23 cars priced from US$400,000 to over US$5 million.

The 29th Dubai International Boat Show is the 14th edition co-hosted with Dive MENA Expo, organized by the Emirates Diving Association (EDA).
