Dodge just released another teaser video. This time around, the automaker has hinted at the quarter-mile time and top speed of the Last Call Dodge Challenger. The numbers are revealed via video which requires a person to do some calculations.
What was revealed from the teaser video?
This is the fourth video released by Dodge in connection with the Dodge Challenger’s Last Call. This time, the title of the video is very self-explanatory. Scream @ 215 mph can only mean one thing – the car’s top speed. However, that’s the easy part. The video itself contains numbers such as 105, 3.02, 2.98 and 1.582. There’s also a leprechaun screaming at the anemometer.
Deciphering the numbers in the teaser video
Let’s start with 105. This could mean an octane rating of 105. While a typical pump has an octane rating of 85-87, 105 is quite common in the racing world. This could hint that the Dodge Challenger could also run on higher-octane fuel. Higher grade fuel equals more power.
Versions 3.02 and 2.98 are pretty sketchy themselves. However, multiply it and the result is 8.9996. In car talk, this number can only suggest one thing – quarter mile time. A sub 9 second time would be great for the car, but not an impossible number. The strongest Dodge Challenger can certainly do it.
Lastly, we have 1,582. This could mean horsepower. If so, then the Dodge Challenger could be one of the most powerful cars out there. However, according to Dodge, this figure is the answer to the wind. Now, gusts refer to air, and for cars, it could mean airflow to the engine. The Dodge Challenger can have a maximum airflow of 1,582 CFM (cubic feet per minute). For reference, the 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon has 1,150 CFM. Hence, the numbers are not too far off. More CFM means higher power.
Dodge Challenger’s Last Call reveals the date
In the teaser, we can see that 105 @ 8.9996 = 1.532. Does this mean the Dodge Challenger will travel the quarter mile in less than 9 seconds running on 105 octane fuel? As of now we can only guess, but the final details will be revealed on March 20, 2023 in Las Vegas. It will also be the last Hemi-powered Dodge Challenger.
