Dealer body submits agency model information to CMA

The National Association of Franchise Dealers (NFDA) has been taking part in what it describes as “productive discussions” with the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).

Topics in the spotlight include the UK motor vehicle block exemption (MVBEO) and its guidelines.

The NFDA is invited to submit additional information regarding the industry’s transition to an agency-type model.

Sue Robinson, chief executive of the NFDA (Pictured), said: “The sector is undergoing radical and rapid change, which we want to ensure is carefully considered as part of our ongoing regulatory review.

“A healthy dealer network is essential to ensure that, at a time when many consumers are in need of real savings, the sector can continue to provide them with the best proposition and service.

“CMA puts the protection of consumer interests first in its policy making, and our discussions with CMA align with this. The NFDA remains committed to assisting the CMA’s helpful review and looks forward to further publication in due course.”
