Bugatti is known for the highest quality standards and great attention to detail. Building the fastest car in the world requires extreme precision. To achieve this, he employs a person whose main job is to ensure that all measurements are accurate to the tee.
Meet Gregoire Haller-Meyer, who is a Metrologist at Bugatti. He is responsible for all measurement and analysis of the components that go into the Bugatti hypercar.
“All the components had to be technically and optically perfect in every way. But, above all, the overall appearance of the Bugatti must be one of perfect harmony. The exterior and interior of each creation must strike a perfect balance between aesthetics, comfort and quality. For example, I had to find a reason why the gap between two components deviated from our specified tolerance by just one millimeter. After all, it may cause unwanted noise at the high speeds achieved by our hyper sports cars,” explained Haller-Meyer.
In addition to traditional tools, he uses modern 3D scanners and the latest software to analyze the dimensions and tolerances of various components.
