The blend of Haute Horlogerie, art and design manifests itself in this striking timepiece that leaves a lasting impression long after seeing it. At its heart is a skull whose symbolism transcends the memento values of mori and vanitas, death and mortality, and was adopted as various military emblems over the centuries.
The skull demonstrates the bravery of tough warriors from Vikings to pirates and even paratroopers from the US 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions during the Normandy landings. In the spirit of the brave, Bell & Ross launched the Bell & Ross BR 01 Cyber Skull Bronze.
This release comes on the back of the BR 01 Cyber Skull, which looks futuristic and angular takes on the inimitable symbol of death, among other things. The Bell & Ross BR 01 Cyber Skull Bronze has the same ultra-modern facet style, though the case and skull motif are finished in bronze, as the name suggests. At first glance, the Bell & Ross BR 01 Cyber Skull Bronze is a born extrovert — a dramatic bronze skull soars in a matching bronze case thanks to two sapphire crystal dials. The “live” bronze alloy enhances the uniqueness of the watch, developing a patina on the surface to prevent further corrosion to the layers beneath.
An entirely new movement, the BR-CAL.210, was designed as part of a release as conceptualization, production, and assembly took place completely in-house. The percentage of movement is visible, while most of the rest is positioned behind the skull. Ingenious automaton hidden in the skull – the skull comes alive when it is wrapped around the crown as it appears to sneer or laugh. No two watches are the same; as a result, further evidence of the appeal of this limited edition watch of 500 pieces.
