It makes perfect sense therefore that for aviation partnerships, in 2021, they choose the Patrouille de France, an elite unit of the French Air and Space Force. This year marks the 70th anniversary of this prestigious aerobatics display team which has built its reputation on the prowess of its pilots.
To celebrate this important milestone with the Patrouille de France, Bell & Ross is launching a limited edition of their BR 03-92 offering a dial in stunning blue, a color that mirrors the team’s Jet Alpha. The beautiful dial is combined with subtle color elements in the form of the yellow Patrouille de France badge, a beautiful logo to indicate its 70th anniversary and the colors of the French flag represented on the ring around the dial. This vibrancy is offset nicely by white Arabic numerals and cufflinks to ensure maximum legibility. These were, however, designed with input from pilots.
The 42mm wide square case of the BR 03-92 is made from the same high-tech ceramic found on previous models and has also been given a matte black finish to ensure the case maintains a utilitarian look. On the back side, the designers have paid special attention to the five aircraft that have flown since the creation of the Patrouille de France in 1953. These include the Thunderjet which flew during the team’s debut, the Alphajet which has been in service since 1981, and the Ouragan, Mystère IV and Fouga Magister which have helped forge their legacy. These planes, built not for their destructive capabilities but for agility and maneuverability in the sky, have very attractive silhouettes that add to the uniqueness of the caseback.
The BR 03-92 Patrouille de France 70th Anniversary is powered by the rugged BR-CAL 302 movement and the entire watch is water resistant to 100 meters.
