Alfa Romeo says that the replacement for the popular Giulia Quadrifoglio is an electric vehicle. The timeline for this car is sometime in 2025 and it will boast 1,000 HP and 435 miles of electric range.
CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato has confirmed this move. Guilia has been on sale since 2016. This sedan as well as the Stelvio SUV turned things around in the company. That said, the time has now come to come out with the next generation of cars. Last year, Alfa Romeo did a facelift on the car, but it was not enough. Going all-electric seems like a wise move that will keep up with the times as well as open up the brand to new client segments.
Powertrain from Giulia EV
The all-electric sedan will be based on an 800V electric architecture. Hence fast charging of 10-80 percent will be done in just 18 minutes. That said, there is no information on battery size. However, we can estimate that it must be around a 100 kWh unit. This is due to the previously mentioned range.
Alfa Romeo Stelvio EV
Meanwhile, the all-electric Stelvio will follow the Giulia EV. We can expect the car sometime in 2026. The Stelvio EV could come with a range of 300 miles and the Alfa Romeo could be priced at around US$60,000. Stelvio EV will compete with Porsche Macan EV.
Another EV launch at Alfa Romeo
The automaker has planned several all-electric vehicles. The new all-electric Alfa Romeo includes a B-segment crossover that could be called the Brennero, and a flagship EV sedan in 2027. The automaker will offer the Brennero in hybrid and ICE powertrains. It will sit below Tonale and Stelvio. Meanwhile, the flagship sedan will compete with the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S.
