AC Cars will unveil the AC Cobra GT Roadster next month for £285,000.
The new model, which shares no components with the original, is powered by a V8 petrol engine, developing up to 654bhp (663PS).
It uses an extruded aluminum spaceframe chassis specially developed for the car.
AC Cars says it has received orders for the car, following the release of the first details of the new AC Cobra back in December 2022.
With its own facilities in the UK and Germany, AC Cars worked closely with industry suppliers on the design and development of the AC Cobra, and the construction of the new car marked a return to European production for the company’s vehicles. It also has a new headquarters in Donington.
David Conza, Chief Executive Officer of AC Cars, said: “Developing and delivering a car worthy of the AC Cobra name was no easy task, but I am delighted and very proud of what we have accomplished.
“This is a sports car like no other, and we’ve employed some of the industry’s leading designers and engineers to build an incredible car that’s both incredibly beautiful and incredibly fast and amazing to drive.
“We wanted to honor the heritage of the AC Cobra, and although the design takes influence from a restomod approach, it has a more sophisticated feel befitting a classic British roadster. This, together with the purebred personality of the original AC Cobra, means we have produced an unparalleled vehicle that is truly modern and relevant to today’s enthusiasts – a true 21st century sports car.”
