McLaren Elva is already a special roadster that delivers pure adrenaline. In fact, the two-seater cars are classified by McLaren as part of its Ultimate Series which includes the F1, P1, Senna and Speedtail. Now, Novitec, a tuner has managed to squeeze out over 907 HP from the McLaren Elva, which is no mean feat.
The Elva is a 149-run limited edition model by the sports car manufacturer. Initially limited to 399 units, it was first revised to 249 in 2020 and then to 149.
Stock vs Tuned figure from McLaren Elva
Even in her stock guise, Elva is no slouch. The car’s 4.0-liter V8 motor pumps out 804 HP and 590 lb-ft. torque. This is a huge number for a factory-tuned, road-legal car. But German tuner Novitec has taken the car to the next level by tuning it to 907 HP and 655 lb-ft.
Performance improvement by Novitec
This power and torque bump is achieved thanks to some performance enhancements and precise tuning. For starters, Novitec first installed the N-Tronic module which has revised fuel injection maps and electronic boost pressure control along with a backpressure-reducing exhaust. Novitec also offers potential Elva owners the choice of gold plating to the thermal insulation.
This increase in power now propels the McLaren Elva from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.7 seconds while 124 mph comes in less than 4.0 seconds. The top speed of the car is 205 mph. For comparison, McLaren’s official numbers read 2.8 seconds, 6.8 seconds and a top speed of 203 mph respectively.
Another upgrade by Novitec
In addition to the increased power, Novitec is also offering a set of forged wheels. It measures 20 inches front and 21 inches rear and interested buyers can choose a color from among 72 colors. Regardless of the color, Novitec offers a brushed or polished finish to the alloy.
Novitec also offers a set of lowering springs for the McLaren Elva. This reduces the height of the car by 20mm.
