Bentley is in the early stages of development for an updated Continental GT.

A prototype has been spotted and so far the only change is the inside of the lights at both ends.

The lights, particularly at the rear, reveal more detail, similar to that featured on Bentley’s EXP 100 GT concept that launched in 2019 as a means of getting a peek at the automaker’s next-generation design.

The current Continental GT went on sale in 2018 as a 2019 model. Since then several variants have been launched, including a custom-built trainer that shares the Continental GT platform. These include the 2020 Bacalar convertible and the 2022 Batur coupe.

The updated Continental GT is expected to go on sale in 2024, possibly as a 2025 model. Prior to that, Bentley is expected to launch the Continental GT Hybrid.

The hybrid will likely feature the same plug-in hybrid system featured on the Bentayga Hybrid and Flying Spur Hybrid. The setup consists of a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V-6 engine and a single electric motor, and produces a combined 536 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. A more powerful arrangement swapping the V-6 for the V-8 is possible for future performance variants.

Bentley will slowly add electrification to its complete range before jumping into full-electric in 2030. The first all-electric Bentley will be announced in 2025 before starting sales the following year.
