The 2024 Porsche Cayenne has been spotted during an advertising shoot campaign. Aiming for an April launch, Porsche has finally updated its popular model that was launched back in August 2017. However, this is only a facelift and not a new model.
What’s new in the 2024 Porsche Cayenne?
For this facelift, Porsche redesigned the bumpers, hood, fenders and lights. Automaker Herman has also refreshed the car by offering new color options along with a different wheel design.
Porsche has also equipped the car with HD-Matrix LED headlamps, dual-chamber air suspension and claims to have tested prototypes in tough conditions around the world.
Going inside, the car will get a 12.6-inch curved digital instrument cluster along with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. These were brought from 911 and Taycan bins. Apart from that, Porsche also offers a 10.9-inch in-dash screen for passengers as an option. Other new bits inside the Porsche Cayenne include larger start/stop buttons and digital controls for the HVAC.
Note that the Cayenne is an important vehicle for Porsche. In 2022, the automaker sold 95,604 units, making it Porsche’s highest-volume product. Also, the cheaper Macan sells 10 percent less by volume despite being a more affordable vehicle.
Powertrain of the 2024 Porsche Cayenne
Porsche has bumped up the power figures across the range. The base 3.0-liter V6 now puts out 14 HP / 37 lb.ft. Again. The total amount for this variant is 349 HP and 369 lb.ft.
The Cayenne S meanwhile ditched the 3.9-liter V6 and Porsche instead outfitted it with a 4.0-liter V8. With twin turbos. This motor produces 468 HP and 442 lb.ft.
The top Turbo GT meanwhile will come in a coupe avatar with only 651 HP / 627 lb.ft.
Porsche has also equipped the plug-in model with a larger 25.9 kWh battery compared to the previous 17.9 kWh unit. Porsche also equipped it with an 11 kW onboard charger to help with things. That said, the E-hybrid gains 8 HP but loses 37 lb.ft. torque. This shouldn’t affect the car’s performance too much.
