Hyundai is done with the budget phase of Aston Martin and moving into the future.
On Sunday, the 2024 Hyundai Sonata made its debut ahead of its official introduction at the Seoul auto show on March 30. With a light on details and a lengthy run of design and tech updates, the refreshed Sonata looks set to break new ground forward.

Gone is the Aston Martin’s fish face, in favor of a look that appears to be inspired by “Robo Cop.” The updated exterior front and rear appear sportier with full-width LED lighting, recessed-insert horizontal headlights and a grille that almost overtakes the entire front clip. The nose follows the style of the 2024 Kona. At the back, a new black panel with a textured finish sits below the full-width taillights. The Sportier N Line models get quad exhaust tips and model-specific dual five-spoke 19-inch wheels. Every Sonata now has a rear spoiler, and Hyundai says updated aerodynamics help with fuel economy and high-speed stability.

Inside, the revised dashboard features two 12.3-inch displays mounted under a single curved glass. To our eyes, the design of the digital gauge cluster tachometer and speedometer looks similar to that of the Ford F-150 and the upcoming 2024 Ford Explorer. The touch screen also seems to have a new interface which was not seen in Hyundai until recently.
The hard keys remain for the core infotainment functions, along with the volume knob. The two knobs are retained for the climate control system, but the new touchscreen interface will be the main point of contact for most of the climate control. A new column-mounted shifter similar to that found on the Ioniq 5 juts out from the lower right of the steering column, and the three-spoke steering wheel has a new design.
Apart from saying it will come in standard and N Line trims, Hyundai hasn’t talked about its powertrain, efficiency, trim features, or price. The automaker hasn’t even said when the 2024 Sonata will arrive in the US
